They call this 'More than just a cafe', and it is! There are not many places in Dianella where you can get a decent lunch meal, however, this is one such establishment. This is a premier food and coffee destination which serves breakfast, lunch, coffee with cake, pizza and dinner.

They even have a children's play area! This is a good-sized area with a kitchen, market stall, table and chairs and other little toys - not huge, but plenty to keep the children amused for a while! When we arrived, there were a lot of children enjoying the play area while the parents were inside having lunch - a great idea!

They also have a continental delicatessen with a good deal of well-established and excellent food, so you can make your own lunch.

I would term this as just about everything you could serve under the one roof. It is such a pleasant surprise in downtown Dianella. They also offer delivery through Deliveroo, Menulog and UberEats.

Pimlott & Strand also do baking and catering, making it even more attractive. They are open seven days a week - that in itself is unusual in a suburb like Dianella as most of it is housing apart from one shopping centre.

Pimlott & Strand also stock a growing range of local, Australian and international products, including a number of gourmet products which are hard to find elsewhere in Perth. They are a family-owned business making their products on the premises.

Their all-day menu is complemented by regularly changing daily specials and offers something yummy for everyone. The place itself is lit up by round balled lighting, which looks very attractive and is filled with many stands of delicatessen. They also have ice cream, as well as a lovely looking cheese section, meat selection, olives and much more.

They also have a lovely looking pizza baking stove, however, pizzas are only offered in the evening.

The menu was quite extensive and included an all-day breakfast. The good part of the menu is that you can have a full meal, a medium meal or even ciabatta with many different fillings. I always like it when there is a choice to have a small meal as I do not always want something large at lunchtime.

For our lunch this time, there were two of us and we both had meals from the breakfast menu. One person had the Mushroom Bruschetta which was with truffle oil and glaze, pan-fried mixed mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and Parmesan. This was piled high on two slices of very crispy, crusty ciabatta. I tasted it and it was delicious and great for a vegetarian. This cost just $18.50.

I had the Jimmy's Kitchen: Savoury Mince and this was with slightly sauteed spinach, two poached eggs (done to perfection!) and once again, served on crispy crusted ciabatta bread. There was heaps of mince and although quite a lot, I really enjoyed it and finished it all up! This meal cost $22.

The desserts looked heavenly, however, and believe it or not, this time I did not have any as I just could not! By the time we left, some of the desserts had already been sold out and I had already heard that their cakes were excellent from another friend.

The cafe is at 31 Pimlott Street, Dianella in a small shopping centre with plenty of parking. You can find out more at this website and see the opening hours.

I was very impressed with this cafe and its menu, and it is one that I am sure I will be going back to again to try a few more things on the interesting menu.
